Has anyone recently purchased a new Rear differential and whats the best price for a UUC Shifter?

So thats the simple part of the question. I am running out of money on this damn car! I love it, but damnit! So I want to buy a stronger bolt on one, but see the 8.8 at creative steel is 4600! I can't even come close to that price. Is there another one that can handle days at the track? Looking for suggestions! Thanks

Purchase the partial 8.8 kit and find your own used center section.

This! You can get an adapter to keep the stock driveshaft for now and if you find your own differential, you're looking at around $2400 for everything. Almost half the price.

Where can you get said adapter? What shortcoming does this route have vs the full CS driveshaft?

the adapter u can get from CS. the stock drive shaft is junk.. the carrier bearing has a lot of flex which causes clunk and pinion deflection. the upgraded shaft is a two peice with a solid carrier and is serviceable.

Ya, don't think the rear end can handle it. I dont drive the car too hard, but the few times I play with it, I just don't trust it, so before I race it any more want an upgrade
