So ....yeah? Im most curious if i can load it on backwards so the front tire are on the ground. Do able?

I wouldn't, car dollies are designed for front tires to be on them. with a manual trans towing in neutral shouldn't hurt anything. If you are going really far the removing the driveshaft is a good idea. I would rent a aluminum trailer if u can.

yeah I was searching the web and got my answer. Backwards is a no no, and long distances with it in neutral is very bad. So, it is going on straight and having the drive shaft removed. Luckily the DSS drive shaft from the CS kit is a two piece and I will just have to remove the rear shaft (hopefully with out removing the exhuast).

You should be able to unhook the rear hangers and support the exhaust with a jack. Then let it sag enough to reach in there.

Also if you are not too low you may be able to disconnect it at the rear and strap it to the cars belly. ( Like hiding a stiffy in sweatpants) we actually did this with subarus to avoid the flatbed. I don't know about these transmissions but fluid runs out the back of the suby one if you totally remove the whole driveshaft.

But yeah, drivewheels on ground, in neutral or not, is a nono.

auto transport from U Haul is cheap enough, why bother pulling the driveshaft and doing all the extra work...

The CTS-V transmission has a rear flange. You can remove the driveshaft and not spill a drop of fluid. I do agree with those guys though, get a trailer. If you have never towed a car a long distance on a tow dolly you will see what I mean if you do it. I have towed $500 clunkers across town and been nervous they were going to fall off.

tow dolly's are certainly for short distances, they dont breed confidence. i'd pull the driveshaft and just get the real trailer

I had mines towed backwards before, but had no choice at the moment. My slave line burned through on my catalytic converter and almost make my car catch on fire. I was stranded and the truck that had finally shown up could only tow it backwards. Fortunately, it was only 15 miles, but no damage at all.

That don't look safe at all...Nose of the truck is up in the sky. Looks too heavy for that truck.
Be careful with that setup, your trailer may sway and the tow vehicle won't stop so well...

yeah....I already drove from NY to Tx with it like that so...I made it. However, you're right, the front end floated bad and it was probably not the safest thing but it was penske approved and I was not spending anymore money! And again, I made it without incident. I do have a CDL A so plenty of experience, would not recommend this for a novice of truck drivers though.
