Three clips on the back of the steering wheel get popped to release the airbag. Once that's put aside, the center trim piece comes out with 4 torx screws, and the buttons are held in place with small phillips screws. Took me about an hour to figure out the first airbag spring clips, then about 7 seconds for each of the remaining two.

So I'm not the only one with a hitch on my V! It really turns heads. Just last weekend I hooked up my trailer to pick up a 73" rear projection TV.

In a lot of ways I can get more work done working out of a trailer than I can a pickup.

I had an mr2 with a hitch and I towed 2 zx11 ninjas and a katana 750 from Charlotte to Daytona. That turned a few heads.

Well thank heaven you had a hitch. It would have been tragic to let that baby slip through your fingers! (I'm a conceited vidiot and run an AV related business so just ignore me)

this was mostly do to haveing to use efi live and hpt to get the map sorted out.

OS swap and hpt now shes doing great.
this time im learning to tune it all my self.

Sad story man, I hope you don't go no wheres. By the way...I am still trying to get someone at DMH to respond to me about fixing one of the cutouts hahahaha. I think at this point I am going to disassemble it myself and have a bronze bushing pushing into the one side of the butterfly valve that was rattling and it should be good as new.

On a side note relevant to the thread I have done the following to my 04 over the past month.

Fuel tank recall
Brake Line Recall
Install PMC (Clutch Master)
Balance and rotate
washed, Clay barred, washed, waxed with DA polisher, detailed and attended caffeine and octane where I was offered 16K for the car on the spot....but couldn't let go of her just yet.
Replaced clutch fluid with Amsoil Dot4
Replaced trans mount with CS trans mount.
Installed Skip shift eliminator
and replaced the same damn right rear brake light bulb twice...lets pray there is no third time.

It's blue from the high temp ceramic paint I used to coat the exhaust near the 1piece Carbon Driveshaft bond points to keep the temps down. I didn't want to use white and had some blue laying around at the time when I did the DS install. So far the hottest that area has registered is 190°F with the combination of high temp paint and titanium DEI wrap.

I got it from LPW Racing. It's stronger, holds more fluid and has load bolts for the mains. It also has an upper plug for additional cooler, a nice fill port and a magnetic drain plug which are easy to access while in the car. I figure if I'm going 8.8, I'm going to make it last. I also used 75W140 Amsoil Severe Gear fluid. If I recall correctly the LPW cover was just over 2 bills direct from their website.

I had to rework/clearance a couple of the gussets to clear the CS bracket and had the mustang mount boss machined off which I polished a little. I sourced the Aluminum 8.8 from a junkyard and had it rebuilt with new Ford Racing 3.73 gears and rebuilt posi.

I used a lubelocker gasket also instead of making a mess with sealer.

That one is for a solid axle 8.8. I read some compatibility issues with solid vs. irs stuff and decided to not take any chances. The fill plug and top plug for a cooler are also accessible with the IRS cover installed in our cradles. The IRS mount boss can be sawzall'd or hack sawed off if you don't have access to a machine shop. The fact that the IRS cover is actually a structural cover would help our situation the best compared to the solid axle version which is just literally a cover and has no mounts attached to it in that application.
