V1 Cam/head swap question (LS6)
Hey all,
Long story, short:
My original plan was to change out the cam/heads/intake manifold/throttle body/etc on my 2004 V over the course of it sitting in storage for the long, cold Canadian winter. So far I've acquired a cam spec'd out by Martin at Tick Performance (231/234 .617"/.576" 114+3). I also have the Fast 102 manifold and the Nick Williams 102mm TB on their way.
Reality check on my bank account has proven that swapping the heads (AFR 215's) might not realistically be possible in time for the spring.
So....on to my question:
Should I hold off on installing some/all of the parts I've already acquired until the heads are ready to install? Obviously, I'd need to get the vehicle tuned after the first batch of parts, and then retuned after the heads. But is there anything else I'm overlooking? Flow restrictions from the stock LS6 heads? Stock pushrods/lengths with the addition of the new cam? ....anything else I'm blanking on?
Thanks in advance.

Anybody have this cam (231/234 .617"/.576" 114+3) installed yet? I talked myself into the TorqueMax Stage 3 (235/243 .62x"/.62x" LSA111+2), love the sound but it might be a little much for a stock (long tubes, no cats, cold air) LS6? I found another thread where Martin talked about a 233/236 .619"/.578" 113+3 being the biggest they would recommend for a LS6 CTSV, I don't mind the sound or the rough idle, it is a daily driver though and easy start/stops would be nice. Just trying to find anyone with a CTSV that has any of these installed.

I spec this cam a lot on anywhere from a 110-114lsa depending on where the customer wants their power band.
