SoCal V Owners Canyon Cruise
After a few days of planning and a little research, I have come up with 6 possible routes for the SoCal V Canyon Cruise I have been talking about in the SoCal Facebook group. Primary focus will be getting as many Vs together that we can, but the event will not be limited to just Vs. If you have some friends that want to come out, feel free to invite them. So long as they are cool...haha. The main purpose of this event is to just have some fun through some of the roads that surround the LA area. I am not trying to run these roads as fast as I can or have a time trail. Just a spirited mountain drive with great cars. Whether you want to run quick or slow, it is all about having a good time and being safe.
Poll was created to vote on which route you would like to use. All routes start at or near a gas station, and end at a local restaurant. The lengths range from about 40 miles to almost 90 miles, and according to Google Maps anywhere from 1 hour 20 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes. I have made the maps, and they are attached below. Each route also has a spot somewhere on that we can all spot for a mass photo shoot. I will be reaching out to a professional photographer to come out. He expressed interested in photographing some cars (with models possibly) in the area.
The date is still up in the air, so I would like some inputs from the crowd. My line of thinking is we hold this on a weekend sometime in April or May. Possible weeks are March 29-30, April 5-6 or 12-13, and May 3-4 or 10-11.
Option 1: Woodland Hills to Neptune's Net via Mulholland Highway.
Option 2: Phelan to Pasadena via Highway 2.
Option 3: Phelan to Redlands via Highways 173 and 18.
Option 4: Victorville to Redlands via Highway 18,
Option 5: Benning to Palm Desert via Highways 243 and 74.
Option 6: Benning to Hemet via Highways 243 and 74.

hey ColeGraham great job with the different routes. In my opinion the lake arrowhead drive is very nice especially if it snowed a couple days before cause the scenery is great and the cars run good in the cold weather not too sure about the altitude though. BY the way this is Thomas Lilly from facebook socal ctsv owners.

The Phelan to Pasadena on HWY 2 is a really nice ride never driven it though. Only problem with HWY 2 is it gets closed a lot of times so you have to make sure its open otherwise its a lot of back roads through the mountains which is still not a bad thing lol.

looks like I might be moving to the San Diego area. Too bad it wont be until June, maybe sooner. if so, I would be down. pretty sure I will have to remove some tint and get some cats eventually.

Option 5 and 6 I have driven when I lived in Palm desert. Those are both nice and fun. Only part that sucks us if you get a slow poke in front if you in those twistes because it's a blast heading into Palm desert. Also depending on where it is I would drive out from Las Vegas and cruise.

Oh I already got general admission tickets. I put up posts in the regional areas of all the forums I'm on... While there was initial interest, when it came time to pay up, everyone disappeared. Which is why I don't organize group buys of anything. People are flaky as hell.

Wasn't aware there was a FB group. Requested a join on there. I would like to do this, but I don't see driving that far north then having that long of a cruise, then drive all the way home (orange county). Sounds cool though.
