The first one isn't sized correctly for our bumper and sticks out way too far on the sides. The second one is a V2 part.

As discussed in the thread on CF.com last summer, the APR splitter for the V1 was made based on the shape of the bottom profile of the stock bumper. And I'm not sure what you mean by "sticks out way too far on the sides". Do you want it to be lopped off even with the sides of the bumper? That would be incomplete IMO. The added width gives you the ability to add vertical fences at the front of the wheel wells, which increases the effective width of the splitter, gives more downforce, and can help manage airflow around the front wheels.

When has anyone ever done that with a CTS-V? Even the CTS-VR doesn't have them. The last time I saw vertical fences, it was on a Mitsubishi 3000GT.

In any event, if you're interested in a splitter, I'll probably have a more closely-fitting one made after my 20x10" front / 20x12" rear widebody modification is complete.

Ummm... so? Does that mean it's not allowed or not possible?

You sure about that? http://motofinity.com/wp-content/upl...1-CadCTSVR.jpg The splitter extends beyond the side of the bumper, and the "fender flare" comes down to meet the splitter.

I'm guessing you haven't looked at many production-based race cars in the past decade or two. As a couple examples:

Or maybe a street car? http://www.chevrolet.com/2015-corvet...-supercar.html

I love how you focus on the front, when there wasn't even an attempt to blend the sides into the bumper. I doubt it was even made for this car.

Edit: because I know I'm going to get this comment--yes, the splitter can stick out on the sides, but it should merge with the bumper as it flares out to meet the tire.

Enough about this splitter nonsense...let's see some stick on hood scoops, chrome fender vents, and plywood rear super-bee wings!

This is YOUR opinion brother. No need to spin it as a Fact as it is not.

Yes, a nice little curve into the sides could make it look better, but we are splitting hairs here.....

Me too....I want to know if it is full carbon, or if they are using Hexcell with a carbon overlay, which would be nice.

As stated on the website, it's the latter.

Hexcell looks badass. If someone wants a full CF one for some reason I can always cast a mold at work and make some.

Honestly, I don't see the need for a solid carbon fiber splitter. If you were making a full-blown wing, sure, but I doubt the downforce generated by a typical splitter merits it.

If you do carbon fiber moldings, what's the likelihood you could do hoods, fenders, extended rocker panels, and other things? With this widebody project I've going on, I'd love to take the finished work and have it remade in carbon fiber. That way, it's lighter and other people can have one.
