Default V1s on Drag Radials

I really want to see fitment on these cars with different types of drag radials. Ive spent time searching but can't seem to find much. I'm leaning towards Nitto NT05R. 285/40/18. Also interested in the MT ET Streets but the sizes for 18s jump strait from 265 to 305 :/

Post your pics, tires and specs!!!

I run 285s in the rear with rolled fenders. Slight rubbing on hard compresses of suspension say... speed bump too fast, or a dip / lift in the road in the freeway. It only rubs in the rear passenger side because the quarter panel was replaced and not completely lined up as OE specs.
I was told 290s can be ran on these cars. 245s are soooo tiny.

Any pics? which tire specifically?

Car is going to be slightly lowered in the rear. I have Nitto INVO 275s on now with zero issues (I think nittos run a little narrow)

These cars pretty much are all more apt to rub on the passenger's side.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/cadillac-...-21-995-a.html

It was his. Sold about a year ago. I haven't seen it since. If I remember correctly, they're 285/40/18

Edit: Correct. 285/40/18 Nitto NT05R on accessory wheels https://ls1tech.com/forums/16946028-post222.html

Doesn't appear to be a ton of interest in this, but if anyone is curious for the future:

Mickey Thompson 265/40/18s on stock width wheels, at stock ride height, stock trailing arms…etc. Tires fit great, and definitely improved traction. I do not believe they are totally broken in yet, and I haven't gone wide open throttle in 1st or 2nd, but I am no longer blowing the tires off in 3rd & 4th which is a huge improvement (Previously running 275/40/18 Nitto Invo on the rear) 8.8 Rear end is on the way, so I'll update how they hook in lower gears…. The car will also be slightly lowered in the rear. I MAY have to roll the fenders a little bit if the car squats, but I will update later

Pics:

I had 2 buddies sit in the trunk when I took a couple of these pics to get an idea of how it would sit once it's lowered. Ultimately may be a bit lower than this in the end.

Tires look great. I'll likely go that route when I wear out my rears.

Out of curiosity though, what all do you have done to your V to not have traction in 3rd and 4th on 275's?

This.

Also, when I bought my car it had some bald 295s on the rear. It had H&R springs without the shock spacers so it had a rake and the tires didn't seem to rub. Stock trailing arms with 19x9.5 STS-V wheels and 1/2" spacers.

I was starting to think my car was under powered... i dont blow the tires off in 3rd or 4th unless its wet over bumpy surface or snowing.

Voodoo, not at all haha. I have a stock '04 as well… It doesn't even spin 1st most times with 245 all seasons. The black car above makes just over 800whp. Different story there

Vader, I do not, but as soon as I get the 8.8 in, which should be within the next couple of weeks, I want to get to the track while the weather is still good. I'll be disappointed with anything slower than a 1.7x. Most of my drag race experience is in high-revving, 'low hp' fwd hondas, so we'll see how I do with some decent RWD power

I had the MT on my old car and it was like being glued to the road. Zero wheel spin from a launch on the street. Just grip.
