the v1 reverse fix
so ive had my v1 for about a year now and its always had a problem with reverse but i seldom drive it, about 3k miles in the past year, and i had some other stuff i wanted to adress first, so i did, but today was time to get rid of the grinding and pop outs ive been dealing with.

now i dont know what kind of exhaust everybody else has but i have longtubes with stainless hardware and a stainless corsa beyond that so all of mine came apart pretty easily. regurdless of what u have i recommend droppin it all as close to the engine as possible to eliminate it being in your way

My reverse was awful too. Its probably time for you to get a trans insert. Revshift took care of my reverse issue. While your under there might as well change trans fluid...redline ftw

before anybody says anything i stripped the crossmember and repainted it. i couldnt stand the rust. but now that its out of the way unplug the 3 electrical connectors and unbolt the bottom of the shifter. the flange nut is 1 3/16". i recommend marking it on the shaft and flange before removal so u can put it back just as it was removed. remover the mount. its got 2 15mm bolts

bearing, gear and synchro off. to get the gear off while in the car, make sure its in neutralstart slidin off the gear and its gonna hit that shaft above it. twist the shaft counter clockwise and push up with a little force. use only ur hands. if u use a tool youll probably bend it. it seat in the tailshaft housing so aslong as u use only your herculean strength you should be fine
