My thought is I hate it. I wish people wouldn't do it. I get some people don't like chrome but it's a really iconic face on a somewhat rare car.

That said, any paint-type work always comes out better if you remove and disassemble as much as humanly possible.

Holds up well on front end. On wheels, not so much.

How well it lasts probably depends heavily on road/weather conditions.

Plastidipped the grill a few years ago. held up about 10x better than when I painted it. Powder-coat > everything else but its nice to know its removable. Might do it again and use the glossifier.

Plastidip and chipping isnt something I would even worry about. Have at least 10K on my grill with zero chips. I also like the offset of the matte grills.

I've got about 20 k on my grills and wheels (no one local does powder coating). I've got a couple chips on the grills if you look really closely. The wheels still look like I just did them, and I've mounted a new set of tires since then. I originally intended to use the plastidip just to see if I liked it before powder coating, but it looks good as is, and I can redo it for 5 U.S. Dollars.

So how many of you pulled them to spray them vs doing it with them on the car? I am just looking for a non permanent change. If I don't like it or get tired of it in 5min its gone.

Do this.. Plastidip is easy to rub/peel off places where you might get overspray, so pulling the mesh is a waste of time. If you want to be **** about it you can tape off areas to avoid having to clean up the overspray. Definitely put something between your grille and the radiator as you don't want to clog up all the fins with liquid rubber.
