Default revshift trans insert before/after

Before

After

Installed

Pretty pleased with the product, especially for the price.
On another note... I also ordered the motor mounts, however i didnt install it the same day. I now feel what feels like my flex-disk rubbing on my tunnel pretty hard under heavy acceleration.. Im assuming its because of my motor mounts are shot..

i had the jaws to hold it down, used a pry bar to open up the mount just enough for the revshift piece to fit in somewhat, then i had it pressed in using the work bench vise.

I had heard one time that it is not good to have a stiff mount on the trans with squishy (or stock) mounts on the engine since it causes stress on the tail housing and could possibly lead to it breaking.

I know it was a shop that told me this but I can't remember who. They advised the motor mounts need stiffened up before any trans mount were to be installed. You can tell me to pound sand but just passing some info on that hopefully would help you not break stuff and enjoy your car!

Solid mounting a transmission period isn't a good idea. Do your motor mounts asap.

Im going to do my motor mounts this weekend.. really had zero time to do it that particular day. It definitely feels ugly right now... thats for sure; no idea my motor mounts were THAT bad until after installing this trans mount insert.

I hope motor mounts help it out! I am sure they will. I have CS mounts and shields and a CS tranny mount. But I also picked up a revshift insert for cheap that I have been waiting to throw under there just to see the difference in height, feel, noise, performance gains/losses. For as cheap as I got it I will compare the two at some point.

Motor mounts made my car feel so much better

jus did my motor mounts yesterday, and ofcourse the flex disk doesnt rub anymore.

Car feels great with the new MM's and Trans mount.

Installing them was very methodical but easy none the less with a second person helping you out.

I had to remove both my long tube headers, which was the easiest thing in the world to do.. (also coil packs and wires)

drop the starter

remove the oil pan dipstick

undo the motor mount bolts

use jack to lift up on the engine

remove busted motor mount.. take out the broken one, replaced it with the new one. The new one weighed considerably less than the oem motor mount. Mine seeped out some ugly gross oil liquid, so keep some diapers handy.

The driver side motor mount was alot harder, but not impossible.
It required a 3' extension for one of the bolts, have to get to it from the top of the engine bay as opposed to under neath it.

Took us around 4-4.5 hours from start to finish.

Interesting I did my motor mounts all from below. And my passenger side motor mount pissed all over my shirt.

The oil pan, with a block of wood.

It's cast aluminum. Not impossible, but not likely if just lifting the weight of the motor up a little bit.

It doesn't hurt it at all. Take the strut brace off and listen/watch carefully as you lift just to be sure you don't have any harnesses or hoses snagged. You need a good bit of lift to get the passenger side all assembled.

Just do what I did. Unbolt motor mounts, one arm press motor up, and slip in motor mount with free hand.
