Default V in winter?

So I recently got a job real close to home ( like 3 minute drive) sold my trans am because I was never really driving it but miss a fun car. Wanna sell my Toyota and get something fun that I can drive year round. Anyone out there rocking a V in the winter on snow tires? I used to have a gp gxp with snow tires that was great but that was fwd. Any input is greatly appreciated. I guess would a v on snow tires do as good as like a Honda civic?

I've heard the v is decent in the snow. I wouldn't see any issues with the v. Keep ur foot in it for snow rooster tails. Haha. Good tires and I think your good just have yo watch out for the other dumbasses in the snow.

I'm in Pittsburgh and run my 05 year round. Good snow tires and not using 1st gear is pretty much all it takes. The electric control nannies work pretty well too.

we probably get comparable snow to ohio.

i'm also right on the lake being in milwaukee so we get the extra fun "lake effect" snow, too.

for what it's worth i've never gotten a car stuck before, but i also am pretty familiar with the limits of all the vehicles i've driven. the V is going to be much different than the past cars i've owned.

With dedicated snow tires you'll be fine. I drove my V all winter ('12-'13) and part of this last really bad one ('13-'14). Both winters on the same set of Continental DWS all seasons. I'm also in Toledo, OH

Well, since we have a bunch of Great Lakes state people in here, do you guys rinse off the underbody during the worst of winter? I want to save my car from as much salt as possible and am thinking about getting a hose attachment meant for washing under cars. Is that just overkill?

I'm in Cleveland, and with my driving style its a pain to drive in the RAIN!!! Anything does OK on snow tires-but the V would be the last car I would wish to drive in the snow.

Also, if you cane about ANY car, you would not drive it thoguh the Salt. My V has 150k and has still never seen salt. Its cleaner than my Wife's 2013 Rav 4 underneath.

Same here with my 06 V and I am up near Toronto. I get around just fine and I just came from a quattro Audi

Funny though, the previous owner never did drive it in the winter. The bottom is impeccable.

I've been DDing my V in Western Wisconsin year round for 5 years. Never had a problem.

I lowered it this year, so it might be interesting with 1" less ground clearance.

My only complaint is parallel parking, which I do all day long. Snow tires get me around town just fine, but parking off camber on one side of the road crown can be tough in snow and ice. More than once I found myself perpendicular to the curb because the back end just walks out when I try to pull away. Other than that, the nannies work well and the car was very predictable in all conditions.

Yah getting out of a parking spot near a curb is tricky on rear wheel drive snow conditions. Always have to give yourself that cushion in case it starts to get a bit fishy.

My old ws6 was a champ in the snow in Colorado! I drove my ws6 in the winter more than most drove their mustangs in the summer (everyone had a mustang back then).

My V did pretty good on the stock all seasons in snow. I was impressed really. On the NT555's though, no not all. Car wouldn't move from a dead stop in snow pack or ice.

It's all about the tires. I drove my SRT8 charger through last Chicago's winter. My commute is about 70 mile round trip. I live in the city and they don't plow the alley behind my house. I had Blizzaks on it I never had gotten stuck and I never lost control. My opinion is get the best tires you can afford.
