Got a warning from the Po Po aka how do you remove window tint?
He must have been really looking hard, pulled me over at night for the tinted windows. Any good tips on removing my front window tint? Sucks but I don't need the $300.00 fine right now.

If you can afford getting it retinted to the legal limit id suggest taking it to the local window tinter.
If you just want it gone I've used a razor to get a corner working, just keep peeling and go slow. After the tints gone I used "goo gone" to remove all the left over glue.

Removal is a time consuming process but the above is how I've done it.
Just need to know a police officer to sign your fix it ticket. This just happened to my lady and her dad said he will handle it. He said he knew somebody. .

This is how the Afghan police take care of illegal tint (no tint allowed in Kabul for security reasons):

Thanks for the ideas guys, i think I'll try the steamer method. Watched a vid on youtube and it looked pretty effective. I've seriously considered just leaving it on as its a high grade 3m tint but where i live is pretty small town and i just know that fawker would just love to nail me again and will be watching for me. I'll shed a couple of tears tearing it off but I'd rather be sending the money to philistine or picking up some other parts on my to do list.

Used to tint windows for a living, soapy water in a spay bottle, and a razor blade, after you have peeled the tint. will remove the glue.
The only time you will run into a problem is when you need to remove tint off a defroster grid. Then you need to use plastic razor blades and a lot of time involved.
It should only take you 30 min to clean up the mess after you get the door panel off.

Just put on the legal tint and be happy with it. Even 50% looks pretty good and it's nice to be rolling around not paranoid of getting fined $300. It's a one-time pain in the *** and will cost you the $150 to get it done right but then you're done with it and you're legal.

soapy water in a spray bottle, razor blade and patience to remove.
check your local VC for what VLT % you're required to have if you want to redo it and not get a fixit or pulled over again.
for instance in california it's 70%: (good list for all states if you're curious)

this is the VC (#26708)
