Default Bone stock 05 CTSV vs 3:73 gear 2014 stock 5.0

Me and my buddy going to be running once I get my shifter put back in, he thinks the V ain't worth his gas. I have heard its a driver race from some, and others say I'll loose by 2 cars. Our shifting skills are "meh"

So do I even have a snowballs chance in hell of pulling this off? 40-120 maybe little higher.

with the 3.73 I think he'll pull slightly, but anything can happen as it's a driver's race.

So neither car has tr upper hand being stock,

Ok sweet, I have heard mixed answers mainly stating the 5.0 will gap my LS6

I have rode with him before and I am a slightly better driver but not by much, I have own the car 2 weeks and him 3 weeks. Instaing my hurst shifter tonight

I ran my stock V against a 2013 5.0 GT was an auto with some tuning. Shifted at 7,500rpms... he would start pulling me in 2nd. Now that I have headers, LS7 clutch and wheel, tune... we did a short burst and I hung through 1st and second and pretty sure I was gonna start pulling 3rd then we let off.

I did race a stock 2011 camaro SS and walked him good.

stock V1 vs stock 5.0...driver's race but I believe the Mustang has more top end and can pull a car length.

If it wheel hops let off the gas. I never floor mine in first but about 1/2 way through second I will floor it and actually chirped into third.

With the 3.73s he should take you. Not by much. I've run a few and they are fast. I'm assuming his is a manual as well. Get your shifts down and you can take him, if you're faster on the shifts that's enough to make up for the extra weight you're carrying around in the V.

People underestimate the new 5.0s but they are pretty quick from the factory if they are properly outfitted. The 3.73s make all the difference.

Having owned both it should be close down low. But after about 110 mph the V should be falling back. Top end is better with the mustang to.

I rode with him a few times and he isn't the best shifter but neither am I

I raced a few in the lightning and beaten them even exhaust, CAI and tuned ones and the truck is FBO

I def want to run him to see where the V stands, only mod I'll have is the hurst short throw

Might do x-pipe and race bullets also

keep it off the limiter and hit gears right and you will be close. i ran a lightyly modded one with a tune with my mods in my sig and it was not great for me. he was impressed but i still took the L by 2 cars 40-120ish. get a VID though.
