V2 cradle and rear in V1??
Forgive me if this has already been discussed lately, but I have searched and only come up with talk about it. I cant find anyone who has DONE it..
So my question is, will a v2 cradle bolt in a v1 car, and what all is required for the swap. I know the gas tanks will need to be changed along with the fuel lines. And also that it will be 5 lug. But will everything bolt up? And will my v1 calipers fit on v2 rotors? Driveshaft?

Useless,
I don't believe that this has been done to date. Other than the mentioned issues you stated, there are many additional issues due to the V1 and V2 being a completely different layout and platform.
The consensus is that you go with the 8.8 setup at a much lower cost.

Ok so this post is ridiculous and should not warrant a response.
But, here ya go....Yes, it has been done at least once ( good luck finding the guy) the car was sold on ebay a while back (by the second owner). Yes gas tank etc etc, will the brakes work? Is that an honest question? The V2 uses the same rear brakes so.....duh.
The next question is why bother? Unless you pick up an entire V2 rear end for under 1500$ (tanks and all) then IMO its not worth it. Just try and imagine the hassel. Brake lines, fuel lines, e-brake, fuel tank, drive shaft Cv's, mounting.
IMO 8.8. Especially now since 8.8 kits have become affordable and able to be bought in sections and later upgraded. No brainer.

Well thanks for the smart *** response NIKDSC5... This is my first caddy. Ive built several ls Camaro's and vettes, but forgive my brake question.. And as far as parts, I can have the full v2 cradle with all components and fuel tank for 1400$.. And a custom fab shop across the street that's willing to help me.. I was just looking for some info as to IF its been done yet and if most mounting points on the body's where close.
I thought it was a good idea considering a complete 8.8 setup will be around 5k.. So that 1400$ starting point caught my eye... Sorry guys, and thanks for the input.

By the time you pay for for the cradle and all the fab work, you could have probably bought an 8.8 kit with the good axles for about the same price. My guess is the 8.8 and CS axle combo would be even stronger than the V2 stuff and you wouldn't have to dial it in.
Good Luck!

OP, I admire your drive to pursue this and ask questions. There are quite a few on this forum who will down talk attempts to be different.
I spoke with the guy about the v2 swapped v1, and I seem to recall what was done was to add mounts to add the v2 diff, and concocting axles to mate up to the diff and be used in our hubs. the drivshaft I think bolted right up since it was CV to CV flange.
I could be way off base, as I dont have anything in writing, but I did ask for pictures. I will look to see if I got or still have any.

I know this is an old post but now in the future it has been done many times. My friend purchased a ctsv1 with v2 cradle in San Francisco and mostly everyone I know who owns a ctsv1 all have a v2 cradle
