Default [VR] Vengeance Racing CTS-V Coupe - 2.3L Blower/Nitrous Outlet - Pictures/Dyno Result

One of our clients out of Mississippi has been coming to us for awhile and it all started with his previous car...a C6 Corvette that ended up with a swapped LS7, VR cam kit and other performance goodies. Last year, he went and bought a white Cadillac CTS-V coupe with the hopes of making a 9 second street sleeper. Knowing how much he loved the process on his C6 build, we were ready to get our hands on his new car and start the build. He decided to jump straight into the deep end given his goals so we started off with our VR Stage IV package and a 2.3L ZR-1 supercharger (we reused the stock CTS-V lid with the 2.3L lower).

VR Stage IV package
  • Lingenfelter 10-bolt supercharger hub
  • Lingenfelter 2.55" upper supercharger pulley
  • Solid Isolator (Pre-2014 models or vehicles without GM warranty supercharger)
  • Lingenfelter 18% Overdrive Balancer and Pulley Kit
  • Lingenfelter Idler Relocation Bracket
  • Vengeance Racing Heat Exchanger System with High Capacity Coolant Pump
  • Vengeance Racing 850cc Fuel Injectors
  • American Racing Headers 2" Longtube Header System w/ 3" Catted X-Pipe
  • Vengeance Racing Custom Camshaft Package
  • INCLUDES: VR custom camshaft | VR Dual Valve Spring Kit w/ Ti Retianers | Hardened Pushrods | Melling High Volume Oil Pump | 3-Bolt Conversion with ARP Cam Bolts | C5R Timing Chain | Comp Trunion Upgrade | GM Seals and Gaskets
  • 8-rib supercharger belt
  • AirRaid cold air induction system
  • 160* thermostat
  • Billet catch can with -AN fittings and braided line
  • Vengeance Racing high temperature spark plug wire insulators
  • NGK 7IX spark plugs
  • Complete/professional installation of all items listed
  • Custom ECU calibration by Vengeance PCM (includes 12 months of free updates on existing combination. Excludes dyno time)

While our stage IV package is enough to have some fun on the streets, he came back after driving it for 6 months to add some more power to get into his ultimate goal -- a 9 second street car. For this round of mods, we went with our VR/Nitrous Outlet stray bar system along with some other mods to really get the car off the line.

Mods Installed This Round:
  • VR Nitrous Outlet Plate Spray Bar System
  • Lingenfelter LNC-2001 Timing Retard Controller
  • NOS Launcher Progressive Controller
  • Mickey Thomson ET Street II Drag Radials on the OEM 19" Wheels
  • Custom VR ECU Calibration

Final dyno results. 952.38rwhp/901.30wtq!

Shortly after the mods were installed, we headed up to a MCE track day at Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, GA. At the end of the day, the car ran a 10.2 at 140mph with terrible traction conditions. Under the right prep, the car has a 9.8 in it for sure.

At Vengeance Racing, the CTS-V's are multiplying and for good reason. There isn't another car on the market that you can run 9's and daily drive in comfort like the CTS-V. This white coupe is a great example of how capable the platform is for people that want power/modding ability on a platform that you can still sit back and relax in with heated and cooled Recaro seats. We are really looking forward to getting the news that the owner cut his first 9 second pass.

wouldnt expect anything less than near 1000hp with that setup.

The nos is a cherry on top. Would love to install a stealth dry NOS kit but too many variables, and i feel the Meth will be more than enough to keep me goin all day long...

I always think it's funny to use the term "sleeper" with this car. I guess your typical schmuck is like "Oh, cool, a Cadillac with a loud exhaust"...but even a stock one is pretty damn quick, hah. Now, when it comes to the big boys, a cam/bolt-on V2 isn't that fast, but it's definitely not slow in any sense of the word. Just funny how perspective works .
