Default Horn stuck on

Pulled into my driveway and the horn started blowing, turned off car and continued to go on for a minute or so and then just stopped, oh and the hazards were on to for some reason. Anyone ever had this happened to them before?

My initial thought was that maybe there was a fault with the security system, but if it happened while the car was running that doesn't seem to be the case. That's a weird one!

No, it just happened a minute ago. Neighbors are wondering wtf is going on. I started it back up after and everything seems fine, haven't driven it though.

Scratch that, horn is going off randomly as I drive.

Update: It seems it does it when I'm turning.

For a quick fix, take out the fuse for the horn.

Im not sure what the main issue is though hmmm.

Right, already on it. I'm going to have to get this thing inspected at some point though lol. All I can find on the subject is some gto owners having the same issues and stating the wiring going to the bcm. But It seems to only be doing it when I turn right, so I would imagine it has something to do with the steering wheel.

Just wondering if this is related to clock spring at all. I know people run into all sorts of problems when it breaks.

If it's happening where you turn, it definitely sounds like clock spring related....

if the horn contact is built like the one in my 4th gen f-body, the contact has come apart.

Once you get this fixed, report back?

I'm curious what the issue is.

And post up stories of awkward interactions when it happens. Steer clear of biker bars and funeral homes.

Has anyone heard of someone swapping a v2 steering wheel into a v1? I want to say I read somewhere that it will mount onto the column.

I wish...don't like the size of the stock wheel.

This isn't a hard fix. Pop the airbag out and fix the wire that's likely broken and grounding out. While you're at it, stretch the springs that act as the motion for the horn.

Good tip on the spring, it has always been somewhat hard to get the horn to work.

This is where your problem is going to lie.
