How do you all up north take it? It has been raining for two days here and I am so annoyed that I can't drive my car. I am really enjoying my new mods and I just have to look at it sit in the garage. What do y'all do to cope?

My truck sits outside in a snowbank all winter. We tend to drink a lot of beer and do a lot of ice fishing. In the winter I also ride a lot of miles on my snowmobile, and imo thats about as much fun as you can have legally on a vehicle.

Winter is always time to work on the cars I have owned. After 30+ years of owning hot rods and living here I have gotten used to not driving them December to March.
I am ordering lowering springs and new struts/shocks next week so I can put the car up on jack stands and start unbolting parts this week.
If I get bored then I get the 4-wheeler out and go play in the snow

I live up here in northern Minnesota. I often ask myself why do I still live here. But for me it is the time of the year I tear down my car and my sons jr. dragster and work on any upgrades or repair anything that may need to be done. Although it is saddening that we can't go out and play with them. I keep telling myself someday I will move to warmer weather.

I have to be honest with you. I was born and raised here in R.I now (47) and sometimes I wish I was down south when it's -0 but no way, I would miss this place in no time and like some of the other guys were saying this is the time of the year to (fix, change or tweek our rides without worrying about the car being down on nice days because THERE ARENT ANY lol but spring will be here before we know it and I have a 2 seater convertible so I really can't wait

I spent 12 years in Michigan and now that I'm in SC.... I won't ever go back! Screw the snow and salt and just looking at my TA for 4-5 months dreaming I could drive her.
Down here in the south... I drive it all year long and work on it whenever I want! Plenty of sunshine so my detailing work pays off too.... All year, every year! Just had the tops off last week!!!!

Ha!... It was -35* below zero up here last mon night...
We're just happy if our rigs start and get us to work!
Like 89gmcs15 says...beer, snowmobiles, coyote hunting, icefishin'...plus LOTS of time in the shop to work on our junk.

*** you guys. Im sitting on a river bank wearing basketball shorts, flip flops and a short sleeve shirt at 6pm. The dog is running laps and swimming like a psycho like we cant do this 365 days of the year.
Texas is THE place to live (except july - august)
Never seen real snow and dont care to ever see it. We race 330 days of the year, and those 35 days we cant race, we go offroading. We have plenty room. Be smart and move to texas

Well, a buddy borrowed my trailer so I took the car off....in the rain
Brings back 2 days later.
I figured I would take her for her first blast down the road in 2014....Got about a mile or so down the road, hit a round-a-bout, and just as I straightened up for the return "blast" for a full tilt run....throttle cable broke Had to turn the idle screw way up just to limp home. Now I have something to do with snow in the forecast
My question to you Southern guys.....with all that great weather....when do you find time to work on your car (besides rainy days) ???

sorry about being a thread pirate...how is Greenville's economy and opportunity? My wife and I visited a little over a year ago and fell in love with that little city. What do you do for a living? Sure is tough thinking about a location change at 45 years old.
