Congrats! Nothing like getting double ones for the first time with a build. unless its a 1 with a 0, LOL. Car looks like its working good , getting into the 11s and only trapping 111.

Thanks guys, this has been an extreme budget build. It is mostly junkyard and Craigslist parts and I've done all the work in my garage.

Impressive for sure and a Regal is no lightweight. Your mph seems down a little though. By looking at the half track mph I would think it would run around 115.

I don't thinks so. No Brick is going to pick up 26 MPH on the back half at 11.99. 22 MPH back half is right for a car of that power level and aerodynamics.

Nice job! 1.6x 60 foot times too for first time out is darn good! Some tweaking and that might improve a little too!

How mild a cam?

My first time racing at a dragstrip was in high school in 1987

I am having transmission troubles - third gear was sketchy so the trap might have been a tiny bit better.

Cam is a Howards #190245-12 specs: 222/225 @50 .561/.578

I have stripped a LOT of crap out of the car. No HVAC, fiberglass bumper etc. etc. etc. It weighs 3230 (two different scales) and 3440 with me in it.

I was thinking first time at track with new combo?

Nice the cam is similar to the one for my ly6 222/234 @50 with .598/.612 on 111+4 (107 ICL) gives me an idea were I will run thanks!

Aww tranny issues always something isn't there? Good luck!

Nah. I'm sorry I dont agree bud. I have been drag racing for 31 years and have owned 8 86 and 87 Turbo Regals and I still say it should MPH a little better then that. I'm not saying I cant be wrong but I think with time and some more passes you will see that MPH go up by a few, maybe even 4.

Edit: Just noticed post # 11.

Your cam seems "hotter"

I think mine is more oriented toward lift than duration (over stock) which ends up as more of torque/lower RPM cam

Avoiding piston/valve issues was my main concern. I did not want to dig into the motor any more than necessary.
