Default LQ9 in 01 Camaro

Hi, i have a 2001 camaro z28 that i recently put a lq9 408 stroker in, i got the short block from texas speed and performance and the heads and cam i got from them too, its been in the car for about 9 months and im not happy with the fuel injection and want to put a carb on it but i do not know what steps to take. obviously a different intake, fuel regulator, but i dont know what to do about a distributor (if i even need one), ignition box, and how to make it so all my stock guages still work and because i live in delaware i need it to pass inspection ( which is basically they plug in and if there are no codes im good to go) also since i have a 4l60e what do i do about that. Has anyone gone through this before?

There is a sticky above:

Lots of info you need to start soaking up, most of what you want is answered and you will be able to go forth with a ton of confidence in the conversion to carb.

Pics of said car or it didn't happen. Lol

What is your horsepower of the engine right now? What size injectors you using?

The 4150 series intake can handle quite a bit of horsepower. Going to the 4500 (dominator) usually means upwards of 600 HP and majority racing only..

Yeah, I would say you are getting close to the 4500 series.. They do make dominators in smaller CFM displacements, that way if you go through any power mods for more HP, you simply change carbs and keep the same intake.

I think i got the general jist of it, but will all my stock gauges still work and can i tune the ecu to say that everything is when it comes time for emissions (delaware is pretty dumb when it comes to emission they will plug it in because it is a 01 and as long as it shows no codes then it will be fine)

And on that statement, I am now out of this conversation.. I have no clue how to keep your computer on the car and run a carb.

Quick fuel will get you going in the right direction.

From what I have read, the Mast Performance intake really picks up nicely when you go to the 4500 style. I would be inclined to believe that the Super Victor might too.

As for emissions.....no idea for your inspection. I'm sure something can be done but not sure what.

Gauges? Pretty sure you can keep them all working as far as I know assuming you keep an electric Trans for the speedo or some conversion box.

Your probably gonna have to cut your cowl to get the carb to fit under the firewall, not to mention your gonna have to have some sort of breather. I think. Ive only been wrong on stuff like 10,001 times. Good luck.
