Honest question, what is the "X"
I've been surfing around this forum finding all kinds of great information, and I was just wondering, what is the "X" in LSX? Is it just a generic LS designation for hopped up LS's? Sorry if it's a stupid question, just wondering.

I vaguely remember the 427 or 454 LSX crate motor, but I figured there had to be more to it because there's no way everyone on here is running a $12K crate LSX.

Its a variable. LSx. x= 1, or 2, or 3. etc.
Some people will claim that it doesn't mean that and that the LSX made people call all LS engines an LSX.
The problem with that logic, the F.A.S.T. intakes have had LSX on the top of them for 5 years before the GM aftermarket block was released.
