Sheet metal carb intake....

Sheet metal carb intake....
So, I have been stumped on weather or not to carb a LY6 and run it all out with some gas, or do a turbo setup. Right now, the NA with a shot of gas is the easy way out. As well as cheaper. Leaning to the carb setup with nitrous for the car just to get it going ASAP and save some cash. So, while strolling through eBay, I found a intake since I was looking at square port carb stuff. Wondering what anyone thinks about this thing. Would raise the carb up a ton. Not sure if I'm sold on it but just to try something different, I am holding t in consideration.

well its an option, and a cheap one as well. Just be careful with the nitrous and this intake. A buddy of mine just went to Sema and said these intakes are Identical to the china ones that were flexing real bad. He said they had on cut down the middle and the top plenum is extremely thin. Just some advice but let us know how it works if you decide to run it!

That intake looks killer. I don't believe I would put a carb on it though. I've been looking at them too. And the Marcella intake is supposed to have the best distribution which translates into almost identical EGT's. I think they would talk you out of a sheet metal intake like that for a single carb. Marcella makes one that looks similar to the Mast. That would work perfect for a single carb. But wow are they expensive. I will bet it would work great with fuel injection though. Hogan makes a good one too.

I like the tunnel ram idea, but it would have to be dual carb. Not only for fuel distribution but also for my self admitted "I like **** sticking out da hood" addiction. The struggle is real. Lol

Too many benefits of the EFI for forced induction to keep a car carbed. We all know how old it gets snatching jets out of a carb to get it right. Add a carb hat and piping in the way, and that is just more **** to mess with. I want to adjust at the stroke of a key and know the Holley EFI will do what a carb cannot. Seen the Holley save many engines. That is worth it's weight. Then there is all the other ton of features.
