Default Hanging idle

If I'm rolling in neutral pretty much 15mph+ the idle hangs around 1300-1500, it slowly idles down when I start coming to a stop, at a stop it idles at 1000-1100?

Default 68 Camaro with LS2 L92/L76

Mine does the same thing, I thought it was normal to idle higher until it reaches a set speed then the engine will go to idle speed.

Mine does the same thing, always thought it was normal-ish. I have a stock throttle body.

I don't know of the tb being ported. I just wanted to no if it was normal. My car is not tuned though either, i'm being told that could be the problem? Anyone else?

Mine is tuned, and it still does it. If I had to guess, I'd say it's because it might not be a true neutral like in a manual transmission. It uses the the Stall to let the engine just spin freely. That's all a guess though.

Anybody have a higher than stock stall and willing to see what it does at a high speed neutral?

Mine is a 6 speed though. I was just wondering. I didn't know if it was normal. But seems pretty normal so i won't worry about it anymore.

Well, there goes that theory. I'm with you I think, doesn't seem to hurt anything, so normal it is.

M6's idle higher than A4's. if you're idling high in an automatic you'll know. this can be caused by an improperly ported throttle body, vacuum leak, bad intake mani or tb gasket, etc.

my car did this twice. once it was a bad intake manifold gasket, then it was the IAC valve not sealing up to the throttle body fully. it wasn't a major problem but it's annoying when the engine is trying to fight the brakes all the time. also it feels like cruise control is on all the time. my car would actually accelerate indefinitely on level surfaces.
