ok so im in the market for completing my full exhaust. i have a LM1 right now and want to get long tubes and high-flow y pipe. i live in MD and for their emissions testing they use OBD2 and idle tailpipe check. how do i get around this bs? i want long tubes but how will i pass emissions? also will be installing heads/cam sometime after. thnx in advance!

Dealing with the tailpipe check may be an issue for you. With the OBD2, the codes that will eb thrown with emissions removal can be deleted so they don't set the SES light. You can probably do headers and a catted y-pipe and still pass the tailpipe check. More than likely you will have to get headers which have the provisions for your emissions equipment (readily available from vendors). Good luck on your quest for speed and sound!

well there are a few ways you can do it from what i hear, you can do all 4 or you can just wire in 2 and then use a tuner program to make the other 2 sensors dummy ones, thats what my friends doing on his 87 RX7, he got one of the truck motors (LM7 i think?) so im just gonna watch him and see what happens and go from there

What the hell are you all talking about? You have to go though emissions every 2 years in Maryland. I know my emission testing is coming up and I'll be heads/cam full bolton so I'll let you know how it goes..lol.
