Default How to remove heads?

How do you safely remove the heads off an LT1? I got all the supporting head bolts off should I remove the pushrods and valve springs or what do I do?

they are not lifting up and all the bolts and rods are out... do I have to tap along the edges with a hammer or something?

Try a rubber mallet before an actual hammer. The gaskets are probably what are holding the heads to the block so firmly.

Yes, they need a little force to pop off the block. I would also stick a bar in the exhaust port and lift up with a sharp jerk.
