Subscribed! Starting a LS1/T56 swap into a 68 Camaro myself in the next few weeks. Hopefully we can compare notes along the way.

Sounds like a plan, I'd like to go with a t56 in the future when my wallet lets me lol, in the mean time i picked up a 4l60e for a 100 bucks but turns out it's From a 01 v6 g van I'm having a hard time finding the right parts to make it fit my ls1... If anyone has any info or part numbers to make it work feel free to pop in??

count me in too. just finished rebuilding 08 TBSS LS2, cam, self ported heads and TB, headers. going in a 68 RSSS, it's on the run-in stand now, just got the vats removed so I should be firing it up in a couple days. learned soooo much from this site!

I'm curious to see where this build goes. Sounds a lot like my build. The more I drive it though the more I wish it had a t56 so if that's something you are thinking about I would recommend going that route in the first place. Save yourself some time and do it once. Either way good choice for s build.

nice project Yeah I was going to put an 80 in mine like my 73 then decide on T-56 for my 69. It's almost done. Yayy!!!
Nice project by the way! Can't wait to see how it turns out
I would suggest using Holley 302-2 oil pan and getting their alternator and power steering bracket setup as well. Will save you alot of time.

Default heater hose

Did the passenger side head cover your heater hose connections? My engine fired right up on the stand, but, That was after I found you have to have a TBSS pedal! Pedal schematics looked the same as the truck pedal but it didn't work. I also have LS3 injectors so that needs to be tuned in. Also, I should have bought motor mounts that set the engine forward at least 1.5" to clear the heater hoses and line up the 4L70 trans with the cross member holes. The hooker headers outlets are spaced wider than the exhaust bends in both the turbo 400 and turbo 350 trans cross members. The list goes on....If I were to do this again, I would buy a complete swap package specific to this car but I just couldn't pull the trigger on what it costs. Seems like everything I touch has to be built or modified in one way or another. But I'm keeping my eyes on the prize!

I'd bo with a big block heater core it puts the hose inlet and outlets in the middle of the heater core cover... or you could always go the vintage air route witch is what I'm planning on going with...
