Theres no difference in pricing. It uses teh same parts except pistons.
a 3.75" stroke is a 335 if i remember correctly.
Yes it makes less power, yes it will cost the same, yes the block will need clearancing.
To stroke it, you need a stroker crank (1pc rear main seal in your case) and a angle grinder to clearance the block.

Buy an LT1 out of a 4th gen for next to nothing , pretty much bolt it right in and save a bunch of money . Leave the "gurly car" RS badges and suprise a few guys by telling them "It's just got a one of those Tornado thingies on it." You could buy and swap in that setup for about the same as a rebuild and come out vastly better.

Im not sure that an LT1 is the way to go. If your looking for the extra cubes. May as well watch around for someone to part an L98 car and score the longblock. Then dump all your LB9 parts over.
If you intend on making an LT383 id advise not to. A few of the guys in our local f-body group did an LT383 and after very little miles there bore distortion, and all kinds of issues. Happend in 3 different blocks.
Best blocks from a gen1. Are the '96 - 98 Vortec truck blocks. 4 Bolt mains, factory roller. Beauty.
I dislike the way LT1's sit in a thirdgen engine bay, they sit really low, and have a slight downward angle. They would require alot of wiring, powersteering issue work etc. Not worth it imo. Might as well go all or nothing and do an LS1 swap, or just drop an L98 long block in.

honestly man thirdgen.org is your best bet
coming from someone with a 1989 RS 305 camaro(see sig) dont even mod it, not worth the trouble leave it basically stock and use it as a dd and pick up an ls1 car. One time I was planning on modding it: 383 with vortecs and a comp 286* (Ithink thats the cam) I was going to be $3k for the motor + a trans, stall, and rear to hold the power. Around $6-7k would have been a 12 sec car. You can get a ls1 car for that much nowadays.

Don't listen to anyone. Its your car do what you want, I built a 305 in my 88 monte ss which according to the link below made 298 HP @ 5,500 rpm. 308 ft/lb torque @ 3,900 rpm. Not to shabby for a 305. The only parts that were different than the link were I used an edlebrock rpm manifold and rebuilt the carb instead of a new edelbrock. It was no ls1 but it hung with lt1's and gts with no problem. If I had keep the car I probably would have went with the above stroker kit mostly to be different all the monte SS you see usually ditch the 305 and for good reason but to tell people I have a 335 would have been cool, you could easly get 475-400hp out of it

Well, i just think it is pointless to build a 305 if you are looking for power. You can simpy rebuild a 350 for WAY cheaper and make more power. It is too easy. If i have a 305 it is a boat anchor. If you simply want to be different and dont want to race everyone and their mamma, go ahead. It is just not logical. I built a 383 for about 800$ with vortec heads, 1000$ with all the odds and ends. But i just watched out for deals. I practically stole it from the guy i got all the **** from. I love my RS, so far i have beat a 05 chevy truck with a LS1 cammed with 4.10, a built 89 GT and a 02 firehawk with a 355. A 335 stroker could not have pulled it off.
