mike, one of the fairmont guys has started working on his own car. he debated for a long time on what motor to go with. in the end he made the right choice
set up will be a cam only 6.0(lq4), power glide with a brake, pt88, squirt, duel fuel with no intercooler, mini tub with 325 drag radials. he is making some good progress. it will be a little like the fairmont but with many of that cars shortcomings taken care of. it should be way fast.
someone asked about the aje stuff. there are some pics in that folder. it looks nice to me. everything bolted in. motor placement is great but it will definately need to run a car oil pan. the tranny mount lined up perfect. the control arm bushings needed to be messed with a little. best thing i see is with slight steering shaft movement we will be able to run the stock manifolds fliped and facing forward, they fit great. he is doing 95% of the work himself. just a little wireing help from john(the other fairmont guy) and some welding help from me. i can't wait to see what this car will do.
think of this. fairmont ran a 9.49. this car will hold a larger tire, will weigh less, has a less power robbing tranny, will have a better stall, more cubes, larger turbo. stronger and better built all around. i will add pics as things come together.

Im doin the same swap into my fox (1990) but with an LQ9 and a GT4202 turbo (what I had available, cheap). I bought the AJE K member but it just arrived a week ago as it was on back order.
I must admit I am not happy with it thus far, just the fact that the did not clean all the weld splatter off of mine, prior to powdercoating pains my ***.
I really can't complain, for the price, but my D&D was cheaper (windsor) and looked alot nicer.
I hear the fitment is great, however, and now I see another case where it is so Ill get off my high horse.
Great swap! I subscribed.
Any idea if megasquirt will work with COP anytime soon??

have fun, then 8's on a stock longblock.
i dont think an 88 is too much. a basic t76 maxes out pretty quick on a 6.0. never tried any of the souped up 76's like the gts76 but that seemed like too small of a step and the 88 is about the same price.

well when you say maxes out I guess that could be a matter of opinion lol. Some people may only feel comfortable at 500 some.. at 6 so that would be two totaly diff turbos. I think a t70 would even work pretty good on a 6.0 if you only wanted maybe 550 or 6. I'd use the 76 for up to maybe 650 then an 88 above that personaly. I just like to have a really quick spool and like to keep the revs down for safety. I dont have the guts to push it to far right now. That being said 8's on a stock long block would be beyond badd *** and I really hope she holds for you.
How far hp wise was the fairmont taken? Im assuming you'll be using some healthy fuel to keep the power "safer" at 8 second levels. What fuel do you plan on using? Ive heard a few liking that Q16.
