Default Guestion on wiring harnesses???

Sry if this in the wrong forum... i have a 1994 v6 a4 camaro that i am swapping a 1997 LT1 m6 camaro entire drivetrain into. I have a complete donor car so i have all the wiring harnesses for the motor and interior. now my guestion is when i put the lt1 in what will happen if just plug in the v8 engine harness into the v6 interior harness behind the firewall??? reason i am asking is cause the 97 has the newer style dash and im not sure if i want to switch out the dash. I know the v8 clusters are different also so will this effect the v6 cluster in anyway or will the cluster just not work. if it will work what gauges wont work on the v6 cluster with a v8 motor

The tach signal will be different so the tach will read wrong. Should be able to reuse the car harness. May have to repin the dash wires and add a cicuit for the fuel injectors like on the 98 up LS1 swap.

There are several things that will be different.

I suggest getting ahold of GM All Data Program, and get the Pin Diagrams for the Connectors that you have on the Car, and the ones on the Harness.

Not sure that you will cause tach damage, it just will not be at the correct rpm.

May not be necessary to swap out interior harnesses. You just need a cluster from LT1 car. I did this in a 98 and both harnesses had the wires that are needed. The v8 has more injector circuits. I thought the new dash came out in 98.
