Search?
My thread might come up, as well as about 3-4 others which have sprung up really recently as well.
ANY 1st-gen Camaro thread will work for you as well (and there are LOTS).
There is too much info to just post it in your question thread, best idea is to.... Search!!
ps.. it's awesome to see some more Nova's getting the LS love

I did a carbed 6.0 in my first gen camaro, same subframe as your nova. I did the Hooker headers with their mounting plates. Very happy with the location of the motor. Headers fit great, no need to nent, dimple, modify. Headers cleared steering box and pitman arm. F body oil pan, no need to modify that either, all my suspension clears. I did however go from a small block heater core to a big block heater core. I also did a 98-02 f body brake booster/master cylinder set up, as it was smaller diameter booster than my car had on it. Most of, I should say all my research was done here and there is a ton of great info from a search. Good luck.

No, you would not have to change the Drive By Wire pedal assembly at all, assuming you're going to use that 4L trans.
I started using a TH350, so had to rig some way for the kickdown cablee to be pulled by the DBW pedal (mod will also work for TV cable as well).
Stick with the modern trans or a 6speed, it'll be much more straightforward!!

I got my motor mounts froms Trans Dapt ordered a tilt column from ididit, ordered an oil pan from Autokraft...Have to get a set of headers.
I'm going to drop the engine on the frame to see how it mounts up, then get my frame powder coated.
I still need fuel system and Cooling System.

It will all depend on your budget, For low cost run a walbro pump #GSL392 and a corvette filter/regulator 97-04. Run stainless hard line. If you have a bit more $$$$ get your self a Spectre tank with the pump in the tank they run $500-650, or if you have $$$ to throw at the car a Rick's S/S or Rock Valley. If you want to run the edlebrock headers and mount plates let me know.
Keep the 5.3/ w/ 4l60e and get a gto or cts, monte carlos pedal for dbw(just looks better) Put in a 54-600-1 cam from comp to give you the old muscle car idle and you will have a nice set up.

To 68 RS Convertible,
I'm also doing a 68 convert. How much room do you have between the rear of the heads to the firewall with the Hooker mounts. I did a quick fit and it appears I'm maybe a 1/4 inch or so away, however, on the mount side I'm approximately 3/4 of an inch from lining up the bolt holes. I wanted to run the stock F-body pan also. Thanks for any info.

I'm at work right now, but if I remember I think I have just over an inch or so of room. I'm also running the stock f body pan and with the hooker plates and headers I lucked out and everything clears (suspension and steering etc.) When I get home I'll verify the clearance for you.

I used the Car Shop 1" setback plates and Hooker headers on my 3rd gen Nova swap. (same as 1st gen Camaro) The motor is very close to the firewall but fits fine. With the 1" setback mounts, the factory trans crossmember and driveshaft work perfect. The Hooker headers drop right in from the top and clear everything without any issues at all.
