what can be done or should i not worry about it to much but im doing a LS1 swap in a no standard LS1 car and to keep from modifing alot up front can i run with the center of the transmission output shaft about 3/4" off center and just run the driveshaft at a slight angle or will i get a lot of vibration if i keep the diff in the center?

Are you moving the whole engine over, or just relocating the back of the tranny. Lots of vehicles were built with the centerline of the engine / Tranny not being the same as the centerline of the vehicle

Man that was hard read. Try some periods next time.

If your angles are equal and opposite and not more that 2-3 degrees, you should be ok.

I really doubt 3/4" will matter. My ol 63 Nova was offset eng with center located rearend. I currently have a 66 Nova with everything centered.

Just try to keep the crankshaft and the pinion parallel and you should not have any problems. Chevy also put big block motors offset to one side in Camaros and Novas.

both the motor and tranny should end up about 5/8"-3/4" to the passenger side but i would like to keep the rear end centered. would I be better off getting different lenght axles made when I do have them made and just offset the rear end as well. Or will the difference eat up the U joints on the driveshaft?

Just try it first, you shouldn't have an issue, even if you do, the most you would have to do is offset the rear by shortening one tube and axle, then moving the one spring mount over.

Only if you had to move it over. I didn't think those differentals were centered, I thought they were offset to the right an inch or so

Datsun purposely built their 240-280's with the engine/trans offset about 3/4 inch to the passenger's side. I kept my V8 swap over about an inch. No problem, and that is with a 22 inch drive shaft.

Like the other's have said, just keep the two ends parallel and the total angle (left right and up down) around 3 degrees.

Here is a way of using laser pointers to check the alignment in both planes.
