Default 99 LS1 into 98 Camaro - Need Help Dash

99ls1 into 98 camaro- the pins dont match so i am reading
https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...schematic.html
his post - comparing the 98 / 99 diagrams - the 2 plugs inside the 98 body/ dash harness - so far the only ones i could repin was the oil pressure and VSS/speedo wires.

The rest like RPM shows the wire is on one of the plugs near fender on the 99, but in the 98 the wire is in 1 of the 2 plugs under the passenger feet- now how do i re pin that? lol if ther eon dif plugs- what do i do? Also-- i did change the oil and speedo to there right pinns under the passenger dash- but they dont work?

only fuel gauge works.

And when u plug a hand held in the amps/ and odomiter works muraculisly.

Please Help--- explain how i can get the gauges to work ;(

Does all of them need to work for 1 to work? (dont understand why i have no speedo) even though i corrected the pins.......

is there a special wire for the cluster or data i need to repin? please explain what "plug" C# from and to what pin on another or same C plug...... if u can.. please answer the speedo/ oil pressure question though. those should work ;(

Has anyone ever did this? what did u do to get the gauges to start working?

The 99 harness is gonna give you fits in the 98 body. First off you will have to install a 98 temp sensor in the engine and add the wires for it. Second the fuel gauge it wired different it the 98 and 99 cars.

Your missing the tach wire it is in the plugs in the interior and isn't in the plugs the on the fender

It would be a whole lot easier to install a harness from a 98 instead of the 99.

just took a look at his diagrams, both the 98 and 99 diagrams show the tach wire on C105. he just split them up wrong as they are in the interior on both 98 and 99 cars.

Realy the best place to start is to get an ACCURATE pinout list for those plugs for both 98 and 99. I have a Helms maunal for 98 and will hake a look.

You could use a 99 and newer dash cluster this would solve some of the issues. It will however create some new ones. You need to change the cluster anyways because the v6 cluster will not work if you want the tach to read the correct RPM

I have a 98 harness that I could swap you for the 99 if you want but it would have to be soon. I just removed the harness to clean it up and removed the egr setup but the rest is intact. I am using mine in a older conversion and I am going to repin to a 02 PCM. Let me know if the harness is in good condition -no cuts, etc otherwise you will be dealing with some other issues. Also you need to have the 98 PCM to make it work properly. Some of the gauges are 98 only.
