4.8l fleplate problems please help!
Can someone please help me? I recently bought a 2000 1500 silverado with the 4.8l with a manual transmission, the manual tranny is going and is being replaced with a 4l60E the problem im having is this motor seems to have the wide crank flange and the standard dished flexplate will not work what do i need? can i use a 6.0 flat flexplate from a 99? anything else i should be aware?

if the crank does have the extended rear, and not a spacer, you would need a flat flywheel, and prob have a converter made with a shorter snout to work-the 4l60e converters had a longer snout in a pass car, not sure exactly what they did in a truck that orig had a longer crank, maybe a diff converter?

Any flat 6.0l flex plate will work and you won't need the spacer as well.
You will need the earlier 4l60e converter (1997-1999) Gen I or a 4.3L converter.
