well you have most of the parts.......The trans will NOT work......the Wiring should be pretty easy, I'd so a search and I'm sure it'll turn up.......

The transmission you have doesn't have the pulse width modulated torque converter lock up so it won't work in newer applications. If you had 95 or newer all you'd need to do is get the converter pilot spacer and either redrill the flexplate or get the one with proper bolt spacing. It will bolt to the block just doesn't use the one hole in the bellhousing.

Hi..here is a thread that will help ya with some wiring..

https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...to-95-z28.html

The 1997 & back Auto Trans are different from the 1998-02's. If you are an auto..which unless I missed it I don't think it was specified what exactly you had..you will need a 1998-02 4L60E Trans.

You will need a LS1 Style T56 if you are that..you can convert the LT1 one, but it's easier to find a LS1 T56.

97 and older are different but 95 and newer can be used with the converter pilot spacer.

The wiring is the same on 95+

A 1-2 solenoid
B 2-3 solenoid
C Pressure control hi
D Pressure control low
E Ignition power
L Temp signal
M Ground
N Range sig A
P Range sig B
R Range sig C
S 3-2 solenoid
T TCC solenoid
U TCC PWM solenoid

94 didn't have PWM solenoid which is why they don't work. Seriously all I did was plug it in and drive. I used the spacer and flexplate from Advanced adaptors and used one less bolt in the bell housing.

I knew the 1995 up had the PWM..but from what I had seen the 1998 up was different.

If the **** fits, wear it..

The ones that have not tried to fit a pre 97 trans on, why put your input and say it wont fit? IT WILL FIT! I have had a LT1 4l60e, 700r4, ls1 4l60e and th400. ( im using the th400 and will never go back. ) THEY ALL WORK. Of course the non ls1 trans you DO need the spacer or the flex plate. I personally just use the spacer.

Flame obviously knows what he is takling about. The plugs are the same, just the VSS is a different plug, just wire it correctly and your set.

I knew it will bolt up..I know aswell that the wiring is different..but Flame got his to work so that is why I say if the **** fits, wear it.

The VSS is actually the same plug..

I'm pretty sure the VSS is not the same connector nor on the same side. Unless you swap put the tailshaft....

Ok i just drug my 2 transmissions out of the garage one a 1995 lt1 4l60e and one a 2003 2 wheel drive 4l60E. The main transmission harness plug is the same it plugs in fine. The 2003 vss connector is way different and wont plug in. The ls1 style has a way smaller plug. I have the harness for both transmissions I swapped the plugs both ways lt1 to ls1 and ls1 to lt1 to be sure the main connector plugs in and the connectors are the exact same. Hope this helps you guys some.

How about you go look at the wiring diagrams and read them correctly and see that they are the same. Quit telling people it won't work when it does. Like said above if you haven't done it STFU.

Lol..whatever dude..I've been agreeing with you.

Not really to concerned with a wiring diagram..I'm not wiring one up any time soon.

Edit.. after one phone call to my Auto Tranny guy I got this..
The wiring pinouts for a 1996-1997 is the same as a 98-02, HOWEVER, the ohm ratings in the 1998-02 circuits are different from the 1996-97. If you tune it and adjust the line pressures in the 1996-1997 type, it works just fine.

But if he's wrong about that let me know..he only manages a Tranny shop and has been doing this stuff forever..

I just got finished comparing the specs in Mitchell and they are all the same except the VSS which works fine as well. So now that we have all the information cleared up. THe 95+ transmission works in 98+ applications. Plug it in and go.
