Anyone know of a good source for trans tunnel/firewall heat shiedling(self adhesive)
Im looking for some heat shield material to put inbetween my engine/trans and firewall/tunnel. The heat radiating from the engine was pretty uncomfortable last year even after wrapping the headers. Does anyone know anywhere that makes good material and big enough to cover my wall/tunnel?
So far I came up with this on ebay...
Thermo-tec heat barrier but it doesn't seem big enough to cover everything...

I bought a bunch of reflective sleeves and shielding from competition products on clearance:

Haven't tested it much in my LS6 Miata as the car isn't finished and in the garage for the winter but I did my trans tunnel with it. I also did under my carpet on the interior with Raammat sound deadener which will keep some of the heat out too.

There are some of the 'peel & stick' barriers that aren't what they're cracked up to be, very inferior products, especially the petroleum based ones. A lot of the street rodders use a product called Lizardskin. It's a water based (super easy clean-up), spray on thermal coating that does an excellent job. If you search around, you can find sweet deals on the ceramic insulation, the sound control formula and the spray gun applicator. I'm using this in my '32 coupe project.
