Default V8 Swap S10....

Im Debating on swapping a small fuel injected v8 into my truck its a 99 s10 ext cab with a 4.3l automatic in it.Im new to the scene on trucks. What id love to do is ls1 swap with a mild cam and mild head work with some long tubes and a good tune but that's WAY!!! outta my price range right now would a 5.3l be a good substitute? Since its still a vortec. or even a way to Bump up this little 4.3 to get some *** Hauling Commenced.haha any idea's would be very greatful!

Default 5.3

Sure a 5.3 would be an improvement + it prolly weighs in about the same as that cast iron V6 or less ? Also lot's of em around and on the cheap !

I'm doin a 5.3 swap into an s10 right now. There are a few companies that make motor mounts, i got mine from Carshopinc and are happy with them, Car shop also sells shorty headers for LS s10's, or BRP/Headman makes a set of longtubes but they are around a grand Or if your on a real budget you can get a set of f-body manifolds off i believe a 98 and maybe 99 as they are able to be welded so you just have to cut off the collectors and move them down about 6 inches or so.... That should sum up about all the s10 specific stuff...
