How many quarts of oil should I be putting in my motor, 6.0 with an fbody pan? if you know how much including what should be in the filter that would be great!

Did you try just filling it up til it shows full on your oil dipstick? Probably 5.5- 6quarts.

May be more complicated than you think.
Look up the capacity for an 02 camaro, remark your dipstick as needed.

You're thinking too much into this

Your Fbody pan holds 5.5 qts, some people like to run it up to an even 6 during each change because LSx engines like to burn oil and no one likes storing 1/2 a quart

You should match the dipstick to your pan. Obviously they are different, much like youd never find a 4cyl dipstick that will accurately read on your V8

For future reference, my alum LS1 has the same dipstick hole as my iron 5.3

They all have the same Dip Stick Holes..every LS Block except for the LS7.

I run 6 quarts in mine..fill the Filter and rest goes in.

6.0l and 5.3l both take 6qts soo...i would go with 6
