Default Mustang, LSx, and Powersteering pump...

I was curious what you guys were using for the power steering pump in the SN-95 mustang? Are you just building a custom bracket to mount the ford pump on the LSx or mounting the Connecting the GM PS pump to the ford lines?

Yes you can use the GM pump, you have to put in some sort of regulator. The Fords rack runs off of lower pressure than what the GM's do. So you have to lower the pressure to make it work right.

Is there a certain regulator I have to buy, or does anybody have any more info on this?

Just make some lines and go with it. I have several thousand miles on mine with the stock '91 rack and it's fine.

There is a kit available from mailorder that reduces the pressure from the Chevy PS pump. Costs like $20-$30. Then just have your local hydraulics shop make up hose for ya.

POWER STEERING FLOW CONTROL VALVE

This flow correction fitting will reduce flow from 3 gal/min to approximately 2 gal/min while retaining the appropriate pressure in the system. This flow correction fitting should be used when a GM power steering pump is used with a Mustang II rack and pinion.

Tech Tip: A power steering pump with a 3 gal/min flow rate can overboost a Ford rack and pinion. The steering will feel "twitchy" or "nervous" if our flow correction fitting is not used.
This is $26 bucks, I will order one monday.

I'm using a Mustang II IFS with a power rack with 2 ports. My LS-1 Gen III (2006) power steering pump has 3 lines. Can these components be used together, and if so, how should the lines be routed? Do one of the other hard lines on the MII rack need to be tapped into?
