Putting a LS1 in the chevelle. Im not paying 1200 for a tank that actually works. I want to just run a fuel cell in the trunk but need a lot of help.
I need a cell
fuel pump good for up to 700hp
filter
regulator
and I would like it to plug into the lines on the intake like stock
Routing could you recomend a path
Fittings and lines, I dont know what to use for get it from an AN to the stock style

Cheapest Route??.... Get a pump and fuel cell. Buy a Z06 fuel filter/regulator and fittings. There is a fitting that connects right onto your hard line on your intake and converts to AN. Routing is up to you for the path and the filter has the return line on it to go to your tank/cell. Here's some part #'s for the filter/regulator and fittings:
Filter/regulator is a Wix Part# 33737
5/16" is return.
Russell PN 640863 is 5/16" to 6AN (for return)
2-Russell PN 640853 is 3/8" to 6AN (for inlet)
Russell PN 640940 is for 6AN outlet

You say 700HP for the pump.. is that matching your engine output ?
If both your pump and engine goal is around that 700RWHP.. I'd say you might need to go twin pump, with 1/2" line and aftermarket Fuel rails and filter, correct sized Injectors..
Would recommend aftermarket pump, filter and regulator !
But, lets get your answer for the projected goal of the Engine output 1st.. which is more important at this point that pump output (we can address that later).

Its a cam only LS1 right now 390ish at the wheels. May go with heads and 150 wet shot but thats in the future. Should I go single then add the second later on when I bump it up?
I've looked everywhere for this info and couldn't find a thing. Thank you!

CE sump on your stock tank or that $1200 f job are the best ways.
Aeromotive A1000 for a pump -don't know if vette filter/reg will work with it-
Up front regulator will compensate for smaller lines if needed. 3/8's will work
Fittings as listed above.
200 shot????

Fuel Cell is fine and Aeromotive even makes one with the A1000 pump as listed above in it. And yes for a pump that big I'd double check if the filter/regulator will handle it although I have heard they will handle quite a bit. Otherwise you'll have to buy a separate filter and regulator. Basically its all gonna add up in the end. Like if you buy a pump and a cell, how much more you willing to spend to have them combined and in the tank and would it be worth it etc...

NHRA cert pushlok style hose is a lot cheaper.
Use as much steel line as you can.
you will need fittings for the vette filter same as up front for rail.
Either double flare the steel up front or run an Aeroquip AN to -6 versaflare fitting ($8 or less) not supposed to single flare steel tube. check into brass for compatibility with fuel.
run TFE style hose up front if going braided. costs more but won't weep or need replaced anytime soon.

What about Aeromotive Tsunami. We are running that on our LS2 Nova. Stock motor with a cam makes around 390ish at the wheel. Works nice.

I believe that the A1000 needs a step down box which reduces voltage for operation on the street (can someone confirm this?). We are not running a step down box on the Tsunami and have had no issues with it.

Stock tank with sump.
I bought a new stock tank from rock auto (sherman products) I paid around $110.00 and got the comp. engineering sump kit. I al going to be welding it up this weekend, after that I will post pics of what I started with and the finish product.
I plan on running a walbro 255 fuel pump. I am feeding a LS6 with ported/polished heads, comp cam, 36# injectors HP goals are 450-475 at the crank.
Tim.

Everything I'v read said that will not work. If I have to over fill my engine with oil because I pin it all to the back of the block I know that tank will not work 1/2 tank you will be okay. I wont race with more than a few gallons, fast and a lot safe that way.

Here are a few pics. The new sump creates a new baffle in the lower rear part of the tank, under hard acceleration this should keep all of your fuel pinned back against and in the baffle area. And because of the baffle area it shouldn't let the fuel escape under decelleration either.
From what I have read guys that are auto crossing are having problems starving the engine around hard cornering. Just my 2 cents though.
If anyone thinks this will not work chime in. I am still new at this too.
Thanks Tim.
