Default HasNoTiresLeft's 240sx!

Hey guys been a long time lurker on Ls1Tech and i figured i could post a thread about my car.

This is how it looked back when it was shiny / Ka-T (Turbo'd 2.4)

After a lot of fun with that setup i destroyed 2 cylinders with too much boost.

So, i rebuilt that powertrain and sold the whole setup for 1500 bux, Somehow the money that was supposed to go towards finding a new LS powerplant for my car disappeared...
(wife and kids will do that to ya)

So a few years later i managed to snag a 5.3 / 4L60E Combo out of 2001 Silverado for $1,100. And so progress began.

Went with a motor plate setup for simplicity.

Once i had my general fitment planned out i went ahead and made my own Acc. Bracket setup, using a LS1 Intake from a vette.

Using the 4L60e required me to beat the living **** outa the trans tunnel and i had to modify the factory 240sx mount locations.

But after a good bit of in and out with the motor and trans i got everything line up.

Using the LS style GTO oilpan is pretty standard on this swap.

Pay no mind to the TERRIBLE engine bay.. was still in the fitment prosses at this point

Once everything started to come together i decided on going with the Vette Manifolds (100 Bux) instead of paying 600 bux for a pair of custom ones.

Once i saw that these would work i pulled the motor out for the final time, to prep the engine bay.

Also notched the subframe and reinforced the remaining area with some 1 inch square tubing.

Nice work!

How do you like the motor plate? I'm thinking about using them on my S13/LS1 project.

Thanks,
Fred
