Anyone take their LS powered Jeep racing?
I was just wondering if any of you guys with the ls powered jeeps have taken them to the drag strip and ran the 1/4 mile in them? I have a gm crate 330 deluxe in my jeep and am thinking of doing the ls conversion. I have a lq4 that i have recently bought, if I don't put it in my jeep it will go in my dads. I really wanted to go with the ls style motor to begin with so it would be a nice upgrade to have efi.

I plan to autocross this "Jeep" when I get done. It's a CJ7 body wrapped around a C4 Corvette chassis powered by a 5.3.

Nice, that is a different project for sure. I ran a 15.0 at 90 with mine with the 2.73 gears and 33" tires. I made it through the traps in second gear at like 4300 rpm it really needs gears.

Sure......the "drag strip" was a little sandy, but ok....

Never raced it, but...
I pulled a GMPP Ramjet 350 to install a 2007 LQ4 in my '87 YJ. Same transmission/T-case/axles/gearing/tires. Even just bone stock with torque management disabled, the new engine would leave the Ramjet for dead in anything resembling a race. No comparison. Plus it's lighter, runs better, runs cooler (same radiator + oil cooler) and gets better mileage.
Jeep feels like it wants to wheelie,
