Default T-56 question

Looking at T-56's for an LQ4 build 240sx swap. I'm wondering if the T-56's from the LT1's is the same as the T-56s from the LS1's

No they aren't. The LT1 T56 uses a "pull style" clutch with a fork. It cannot be used behind any gen 3 engine. You can convert an LT1 trans to an LS1 by changing the midplate, input shaft and bell housing. To make this a reasonable option you would need to buy the LT1 T56 very cheap because if you buy new parts to covert the trans you will have $225.00 in the front plate, $215.00 in an input shaft, roughly $200.00 in a slave cylinder and roughly $200.00 in a bell housing. If you don't purchase the LT1 transmission cheap you will have more into converting the trans than you would have in just buying an LS1 T56.

It funny, everytime I see a Thread about T56, 1/2 of them are asking this same question.. early LT1 T56 to Gen III/IV engine..

and its the same answer.... a)no, b) mod it to make it work, c) buy a LS1 T56... d) and use the search...

But everyone is learning....!
