Default Ls7 exhaust manifolds modified to fit narrow chassis

Just recently took my parts to the welder and got my LS7 exhaust manifolds welded together. The large factory flange flange needed to be removed to fit the narrow chassis for the Avanti. The transition to the 2 1/2 diameter not only angles together in the horizontal in the picture, but the whole transition also angles inward toward the block, similar to a block hugger type header. The exit opening is then parallel to the ground. We used 308 SS sheet metal and tubing to form the transition, as the manifolds are stainless.

Went from this:

That looks like a great idea, any chance we can get a picture of them on the engine? Id like to see where they drop in relation to the engine mounts

Nice work. Looks like they are going to come a long way down before they turn. You must have a big engine compartment.

Here is the driver's side when fitting them up:

Here is the passenger's side with only the tubular transition pieces tacked together:

No, not a large compartment at all, really quite narrow between the frame rails. However, the transition can be long, as we are bringing the exhaust underneath the frame rail there, beneath the rail "kickup." This is to bring the exhaust to the side pipes.

Sidepipes are shown in the photo below.

How much were the manifolds and how much would the fab work cost? I wonder if they could or would fit other cars?

I'm thinking it's 24.5" wide between the front rails.

Having said that, if you wish, I can go out and measure in a few days. (stored in a remote location).

Manifolds were on an online auction, generally in the $150/pair range.

I did the fab work, is probably substantial to TIG weld. A friend did the TIG welding.

Do you have some measurements of these? mostly how long they are from the top of the bottom of the flange? How much do they kick out? looks like they are pretty tight.

Here are some measurements that I recieved from user wadd:
rough measurements:

from the bottom of the mounting flange to the collector - 7"

Then, using the mounting flange as a reference plane (i.e laying it flat on a table) distance from

plane to inside collector flange 1/2"
plane to outside collector flange 5 1/2"

He responded under a post I made regarding these manifolds.

I did pretty much the same to extra room on my transverse installation as well:
