Default Edelbrock headers for Chevelle...anyone companies still have any?

I was very happy with the stepped Edelbrocks on my Camaro and I heard good things on the A-body swap headers 65073. I know they stopped making them but does anybody know if there are any sets left at any supplier?

sdparts had them on their site still for $516.95...I ordered and it came to $530 ish. Well email came stating they aren't available. I was expecting that though and they pulled them from the site.

Also found them on another site for $734.95 w/ free shipping and 'in stock' but I'll wait until I call them tomorrow.

At $735 are they worth it bczee?

I think you answered your own question on if they are worth $700+.. at the price, you have many choices.. Kook's, SW, Hooker, etc... They did fit well and were easy to install.. for around $500, yes. .$700+ no..

Maybe they have stopped production of the Edelbrock Headers to install rollers on the bottom in lieu of ground clearance.

I was really hoping to find a set of these also, but gave up and am going with the Pacesetter f-body headers. Hopefully I will know if they fit within the next couple of weeks.

With a 70 you have way more options than I did with my 66. If I had one of these later years I would have looked hard at stainlessworks headers. They look mighty nice. not sure on fit though since I haven't researched the fit.

Yeah.. many did this before the Header manufactors started making swap headers. Some have had success without any modification others have mod'd a few tube and the Driver side Collector.

For what its worth, I have the Edelbrocks and ground clearance has not been an issue for me. They sit just as high as the long tubes on the previous BBC. And the car actually sits another inch lower thanks to tall ball joints from SC&C.

I will say that the passenger side is a real bear to install. And God help you if you need to do starter maintenance of any kind.

Oh...66 Chevelle

Huge bummer they stopped making them, but with as many bends, steps, and welds they had in those things, I have no idea how they could have made any money on them. They were the closest to equal length of any swap headers I've seen.
