6.0 lq4 for $650 good deal?
Motor has 111k on it holds 45psi at idle and comes with front brackets and accessories but no wiring or computer. If so what should I do to it besides a tostal rebuild to fresh the motor? Trying to see if it would be less costly to do this rather a ls1 to start with. I'm at work so picture will be posted later today. Thanks!

I would say that is a decent deal, something like that down here will easily go for 1,200-1,400. That pricing sounds more reflective of the 5.3's around here.
What concerns you about the motor to rebuild it?

As long as it is an aluminum head 6.0 that is a very fair deal. If I were putting it in anything I would change the valve springs, oil pump, rod bolts. If you are going to cam it and keep the stock truck intake I would call some of the big shops that have done a lot of truck builds and see what cam they would recommend. If you want to run a car intake you will need to change the accessories.

Plan would be to swap in a ls3 or ls6 intake depending on $$, with a custom grind cam and probably for now leave the heads alone unless porting isnt too much money. Reason I am not wanting a rebuild (not against it at all) is the money it would cost, it would probably be more cost efficent at that point to swap in a lower mileaged 6.0.
And as for the accessories, Theres a thread over on my s10forum how to keep the truck accessories while having a car intake, so I'm not worried about the front accessories being a truck front end.

Don't you at least want to take a peak under those valve covers? It looks like it has been left out in the weather with nothing covering the oil fill holes.
To me is seems like to much trouble, with all of the unknowns and having to source a trans, wiring harness and ECU. There are less sketchy deals out there.

Yes, that motor should have ls6 cathedral ports. The LS3 manifold won't work with those heads. I think an LS2 manifold will work too, but not 100% sure on that.

That intake manifold defineatly looks melted on the left side. Doesnt mean anything was wrong with it. But i guess thats why it doesnt come with a wiring harness.

Thanks for the help guys. I am just anxious to dive into this. I need to get my eggs in a line before I do anything. Trying to figure out the best option for me to go. Whether its going to be more costly to go truck motor converted to car top end with cam or a ls1/2 and the same.
