I started out with a hummer pan on my 72, but because my car is lowered AND its a street car, I didnt have enough clearance to feel safe. I changed up to the F-body pan and love it! My subframe crossmember sits lower than the pan now. Using the BMR mounts, I didnt have to notch or fab anything to change pans.

The F-body pan would give you the best ground clearance. You can also go with either the MAST or Holley pans.

You can also go with one of the Steel pans. Auto Kraft or the Champion pan are common ones that people use. This might be better if your Drag Racing, as I think the internal Baffles are better designed.

With the BMR mounts, I didnt. I have heard that some have had to notch the subframe crossmember slightly to make it work. If you can do simple cuts and welds, it should be cake IF you have to do anything at all. Good Luck with your build.

I have an 80 Z28. I used the truck pan that came with my engine and sliced the bottom off. Then i bought a piece of 1/4 inch aluminum plate and had it tigged to the bottom of the pan. Also included a bung to put a plug in to drain the oil. IIRC i cut about 2 3/4 inches off the pan. Then i cut the aluminum close to the pan shape and had a friend tig it for me. works great. Holds about 5 1/4 litres of oil.

WWW.DirtyDingo.com Look at their assortment of plates. I Used the adjustable type and can't complain one bit. F-body pan here, no cutting or welding.

I used BBC frame stands and generic E-bay 1" setback swap plates. (all block/motormount holes are inline) and Fbody pan. You can use SBC frame stands with CarShops' 1" setback plates.

Not if you are using a TH350. If you are using a 4L60/700R4 you will have to re-drill and move the mount.

I used the transdapt mount plates (non 1" setbacks) with my ls2 and the F-body pan. I've got great pan clearance with the subframe and didn't have to to any cutting. With the 4L65e I used the stock X-memeber, just had to move it back some, drilled 2 new holes & used 2 existing holes
