Default Next build 2001 BMW 325Ci 4.8 or 6.0?

The Mustang is sold, time for the next build...

picked it up for $2500

Car is in transport to my house, new headlights ordered, and some other odds and ends.

Now I know the factory BMW electronics are a pain. (So dont lecture me that it cant be done). I intend to keep all the factory gauges and electronics in tact. Its going to be a 6 speed manual trans but what engine?

should it be a 348Ci or a 360Ci ?

Engine prices are about the same, +/- $200.

There's already been one E46 build completed on here, by a member in the UK, so don't let too many people try and scare you off. Sure it may be more work than a 240SX or E36 car, but the E46's are oh so sexy.... Keep us posted! Me personally, I'd try and find a L33 5.3L to have the aluminum block to keep the weight down as much as possible.

To make your gauges work you will need to keep the factory ECM. Just connect it to the LS engine and it will run your gauges. I think the other guy machined another crank trigger to get the tach working.

Thanks for the input guys, I have read the thread on the guy from the UK, there was also another blip of another from someone in England. I did read about the crank trigger, I will figure out more when the car is here. Then I can check sensors and get output readings.
