1972 Nova LQ4
I have had the car for about 1 1/2 years now. It replaced my LS powered 93 mustang (still miss her) that i built a long time ago.
It had a solid roller 383/TH350. It had great power but i did not like the oil leaks, fuel smell, adjusting valves etc. I hurt the trans at the track so i knew it was time to go back to LS power.
I picked up a 2006 LQ4 and 4L80e with 27K miles from LKQ.
Using Dirty Dingo plates i installed the motor.
Eventually i want the car go towards the Pro-Touring route. That has me on the fence right now about the trans/induction setup.
The initial plan was to go with a LQ4/4L80e/turbo setup.
I am on the fence to go that route or NA with a TKO. I am on hold until i figure it out

Looking good, love the vinyl top! If your going to race it more than cruise it, I personally would prefer to go with the automatic. However, if this is something built mainly for cruising, the manual would be the way to go. Just my 2 cents.

I am leaning towards selling my 80e and going with a T56. Although ALOT slower it will be more fun IMO on the street.
I thought the TKO would be an easier conversion but from what i have found so far the pieces add up quickly. I have some more information to gather before i make a final decision.

Thanks.
The front is all original that i cut the factory front springs.
The rear i am not sure. The previous owner installed a 9inch in it. It has multi-leafs but i am not sure if they are original or not. He also notched the top of the wheel tubs to fit a 275 Drag radial and installed through the floor subframe connectors.
He did 95% of the work before i bought it. IMO he didnt spare expense and overall did a great job on the car. Besides the LS swap all ive done is clean up some wiring, move gauges around, lower the front end and change the stupid side exit exaust.

For now my Truck pan clears (but hangs too low to drive) so i can start with making sure which-ever headers i use fit. If they fit where my motor is at i will then start installing my T56 and make a crossmember.
