Default 98-02 F-body headers in 66-67 A-body?

I did a fair amount of searching on this , but I am specifically looking into F-body long tube 1-7/8 , and I was wondering if anyone around would care to chime in and tell me if its a good fit in the 66-67 a-bodies? I don't really want to spend 1 k on Kooks , and I don't want to leave 10-20 hp on the table with the smaller 1-3/4 Dougs conversion headers. My parts are -lq9, 200-4r , mast or holley pan , modified dirty dingos , stock small block frame stands.
Thanks

I have a set of headers that are custom made for a 73a body ls swap. Not sure if they will work for you but pm me if interested. They are lemons 2" primaries, 3.5 collectors and coated

I dealt with these headers in my swap, but it is a 1971, so not really an apples-to-apples for you.

My basic recommendation is that they are do-able. I left my motor in the "stock" location, not moved 1" back like many people do. This created a whole bunch of headaches for me. Otherwise, I believe they would have fit fairly well.

Really though, as long as you are not afraid to rework them some, you can't get headers for cheaper! I even picked mine up used from an LS1Tech member...

I have these on my 67 but they are nowhere near a bolt in deal. I ended up cutting off the outlet flanges since they wouldn't fit anyway.
Then welded flowmaster ball collectors on. I also had to dent the hell of the half of the tubes just to get them in there. So no, I wouldn't recommend it. I will probably just buy the correct headers eventually.

Not yet , as I'm waiting for the back ordered Mast conversion oil pan to arrive in a few weeks. Dirty Dingo slider engine mounts are going in , because that is what makes the Kooks fit . It looks like adjusting with the sliders , will set the two outside LH header tubes, between the cross member and the lower control arm mount. The width of the frames in 66-67 A-bodys are approx. 4" narrower than 68-72's .
