Question F body alt vs gto alt

Does anyone have an actual size dimension for these two, did a search and found nothing, only statements of the f-body being smaller..
Thanks

The overall diameter, length is not an issue...

After mounting both the GTO alt and the F body alt and measuring from crank ctr line, the f body alt gains only .385. Hope it is worth it....

I know the problem with the GTO alternator on certain cars is the location of the power lug. the F body one isn't as exposed.

If you need smaller diameter then hard to beat a Denso alternator off an import. They weight less too. You will need to fabricate your own brackets. I was able to mount one off the side of the head.

Powermaster alternators look like hot rodded denso units.

Here is a one source (scroll down a ways) http://www.brise.co.uk/alternators.html They have up to 150 amps

They come with an almost uncountable number of lug and clocking orientations. I use to have a better reference that showed all the set ups but the link went dead.
