Talking 6.0LSX swap into a 71 Chevy C-10

Well I took the 71 Chevy C-10 to www.Hawksthirdgencamaro.com last week for them to start the 6.0 LSx motor and 4l80e swap. I dropped it off on Tuesday afternoon and Friday I went and picked up the old 305HO TPI and took the 6.0 over to them.Doing a turn key job + they have there own dino machine to do the final tuning.

Truck it's going in.

Wink More

I've owned this truck since March of 1986 after my 67 burnt up. I have driven it everyday for the past 17 years. I put the 305 in it back in 1989 with the 700 r4. It has factory AC that I installed along with speed hut gauges I just installed about a year ago. I have the factory dash out of it that has all the factory correct speed warning, tach, oil. water, gas and I added a clock. I installed a late model mirror with direction and temp senor along with tilt wheel. Trucks been lowered with 20" Boss 338's.

Wink 1971 Chevy 1/2 ton

Drove the truck last June a little over 3200 miles on the Power Tour. Man that was fun and plan to do it again this coming June. Just have a little more power for the Power tour this time.

Talking 71 Truck 6.0 LSx

Hope to pick it up this Friday all done and tuned.
Has any one used a Camaro motor cover on a 6.0? I bought one because I was told it would work with a few minor mods! Yea right...from what I can tell it's going to take more tham a few minor anythings to work.

Thanks,
I got a phone call on the way to work tonight. Doesn't look like I will be getting it this week either. Ac isn't there yet. Now he is ordering a clutch assembly for it.

Wink Surprised

I was surprised Friday afternoon to get the phone call it was ready! Then the bubble burst when he said well it's running anyway.
We had a little truck meet I helped put together in greenville SC Saturday so he said to come get it and drive it. Got to try and get exshaust work done this week and then take it back to him for the final touches & tune.
Bought the Scan Gauge 2 also. It's nice and has all kinds features. It's the red gauge.

Wink Oop's

Had a small set back Tuesday and Wenesday of this past week. Had the exshaut work sceduled for Wenesday morning well it snowed Tuesday night so it didn't make it. Called Wenesday morning and he had a doctor appointment. Said to bring it over at lunch time. Well I went out to go and it wouldn't crank. Fuel pump went out. Had it towed back to Hawks and they put a new one in it and it's scedule for Monday morning now. Then back to Hawks for the dino! Hopefully by end of next week this will all be behind me!
Latest pictures.
